Technology Project – Rocky’s Own Transport Company

I spearheaded the development of a system for data gathering to improve safety and compliance in transporting explosive materials. At the time, no national database existed to support hazard identification and route planning. During this project, I interpreted and applied laws across multiple states, including workplace health and safety, road transport, environmental protection, and chain of responsibility laws. I also had to consider other regulations, such as dangerous goods regulations and regulations related to the storage and handling of explosives. Ultimately, I delivered a system that provided the transport company with critical data for transportation planning that was compliant and optimised for safety and efficiency. The Company mostly benefited from a reduction in operational costs and improving its compliance to a vast array of laws.|

Technology Project – Young’s Bus Service

I lead the project team that invented and implemented Queensland’s first public transport ticketing system and Student Information Tracking system called TranSIT. The Company wanted to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. It already recognised that passengers wanted more information at their fingertips such as knowing the approximate arrival time of the next bus. This project was a completely new idea and process which benefited the company with increased revenue and compliance and was a significant value add for its eventual acquisition by a multinational provider.
